When you purchase any home insurance in California you will need to provide certain details. This is necessary for various reasons. It helps us to ensure that you have the correct type and amount of insurance and it provides the insurer with the information they require and you and the property. The information you should have on hand will include:

The Dwelling: house, apartment or condo? How many bedrooms and bathrooms? What material is it made of? What year was it built? Any outdoor structures?

Estimate Value of Possessions: This can be tricky. Do an inventory of your possession room by room to get an idea. Insurance companies also have guidelines for certain sized/type homes, but if you have some particularly valuable items – for example, expensive appliances and a wardrobe of brand name clothing – then you may wish to calculate the value of your contents more accurately.

Valuable Items: you may need to purchase additional cover for valuable items like jewelry, antiques, or artworks as the limits of a standard policy might not be enough to cover your items.

Occupants: you’ll be asked how many people live in the dwelling, and whether there are any pets or animals on the property.

Having all of these details at the ready should make purchasing your California homeowners insurance quick and easy.
